Job Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of relevant working experience, specifically in a manufacturing environment with a focus on purchasing and import/export operations.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Malaysian Customs regulations, import procedures, and MIDA tax exemption applications is essential.
  • IT Literacy: High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) for data analysis and reporting.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Well-versed in ISO 9001:2015 standards and internal audit requirements within the procurement and logistics functions.
  • Soft Skills: Able to work independently with minimal supervision; must possess strong negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills to deal with government officers and vendors.
  • Mobility: Possess own transport and willing to travel to customs offices or warehouses when required.


Job Description:

  • Procurement & Shipment Coordination: Manage and coordinate all international procurement and import shipments to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery and optimal inventory levels.
  • Customs & Documentation Management: Oversee end-to-end import/export processes, ensuring all shipping documents (Invoice, Packing List, BL/AWB, Form E/D, etc.) are accurate for smooth customs clearance.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Liaise directly with Customs authorities (KASTAM), MIDA, and other government bodies regarding Duty Exemptions (CJ5/CJ5A), tariff classifications (HS Codes), and regulatory compliance.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with forwarding agents, overseas vendors, and internal warehouse teams to monitor cargo movement and resolve any clearance bottlenecks.
  • Cost Analysis: Monitor and analyze procurement and logistics-related costs (freight rates, surcharges, duties); prepare monthly reports on forwarding and logistics expenses for management.
  • Process Optimization: Support the Head of Department in identifying cost-saving opportunities in the supply chain and optimizing the logistics workflow to enhance overall efficiency.
